Capacitance-Voltage measurement or C-V is a probing technique which varies the voltage in order to measure the capacitance. Historically C-V has been used to detect mobile ion contamination in oxide, which takes the form of sodium ions. The problem in the past has been dealing with extremely mobile sodium that was known to migrate within the device structure. This resulted in many devices passing the final test in the factory to fail in the field. Since 1970, the Micromanipulator Company has been the leader in supporting semiconductor professionals who perform C-V measurements.
The Micromanipulator Company’s turnkey solution provides a highly accurate test environment for C-V measurements. Our Model 8060 (150-200mm) manual analytical probe station is an excellent base or foundation for quality test results. It is designed for ease of use in demanding applications including very low current and voltage probing, high and low temperature probing and sub-micron target probing to the limits of visible optics. By combining the value of efficient use with the confidence of a consistent, accurate electrical and mechanical performance, it has become the manual 150/200mm probe station of choice for demanding analytical test professionals around the world.
As with all of our probe stations, the Model 8060 has a wide range of accessories and consumables that were expertly designed to allow our users to be successful with C-V testing applications. One accessory is our exclusive Micromanipulator’s H1000 Thermal System that offers a single chuck with a temperature range from –65 degrees C to 400 degrees C. The H1000 is specifically guarded to protect the prober from radiating heat down into the body of the station, and the cooling fluid hoses feature self-sealing, quick disconnects to prevent any fluid leakage. Additionally the chuck’s plumbing is entirely contained within the footprint of the 8060.
