Meet Our Proprietary, Exclusive Thermal Chucks

 Picture

The Micromanipulator Company is proud of the fact that the semiconductor industry has trusted us for 65 years to design, engineer and manufacture all of the tools they count on. Our extensive history and expertise allows us to be a huge asset in our customers’ success today; as we look forward to addressing tomorrow’s semiconductor testing needs for many years to come.

So why buy a Micromanipulator thermal chuck?  Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that we have been manufacturing thermal chuck systems for more than 40-years!  In fact our background includes not only pioneering the integration of thermal chucks with probe stations, but we continue to lead the industry with the broadest available temperature range and the most advanced, non-operator dependent performance available on the market today.

Features of the Micromanipulator H1000 Thermal System include the best planarity at temperature, a sputter platinum surface, and the best isolation at temperature.  Configurations include Coaxial, Triaxial, and High Power.  It is host programmable and offers probe station or stand-alone capabilities.  The H1000 is ambient to:  400°C;   0° to 400° C;   -65° to 400° C.

Highlights also include fast ramp rates, and a cooled radiator that improves safety and stage integration.  Our thermal chucks are upgradeable as your needs change and support 150 to 300 mm wafers in coaxial or triaxial configurations.  Choose an AC heating supply for fast heating when chuck noise in the femtoamp level is not needed, or a DC heating supply to achieve the very lowest level measurements.  In addition there are three cooling options.  The most economical is the C1000 simple heat exchanger (HE) cooling for high (above ambient) testing and offers rapid cool down of the chuck after a heat cycle is finished. The C1000 zero degree option is for testing to zero degrees C.  The third choice is the HC1000 high performance cooling system to test at temperatures down to -65 degrees C.

While headquartered in Carson City, Nevada, our products are readily available to customers across the globe.  We have sale centers located throughout the USA, Canada and Mexico as well as Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South America.  Therefore regardless of your location, we have area sales reps available to help you purchase our high-quality products.  Contact us to learn more.

Micromanipulator not only invented analytical probing in 1956 but we are the leading name in the field and reliably deliver the tools and life cycle support the semi-conductor industry depends on. Our company’s philosophy and what drives our success is an unfaltering commitment to our customers’ satisfaction. Doing C-V Measurements? Our Tools Ensure a Highly Accurate Test Environment

Capacitance-Voltage measurement or C-V is a probing technique which varies the voltage in order to measure the capacitance. Historically C-V has been used to detect mobile ion contamination in oxide, which takes the form of sodium ions. The problem in the past has been dealing with extremely mobile sodium that was known to migrate within the device structure. This resulted in many devices passing the final test in the factory to fail in the field. Since 1970, the Micromanipulator Company has been the leader in supporting semiconductor professionals who perform C-V measurements.

The Micromanipulator Company’s turnkey solution provides a highly accurate test environment for C-V measurements. Our Model 8060 (150-200mm) manual analytical probe station is an excellent base or foundation for quality test results. It is designed for ease of use in demanding applications including very low current and voltage probing, high and low temperature probing and sub-micron target probing to the limits of visible optics. By combining the value of efficient use with the confidence of a consistent, accurate electrical and mechanical performance, it has become the manual 150/200mm probe station of choice for demanding analytical test professionals around the world.

As with all of our probe stations, the Model 8060 has a wide range of accessories and consumables that were expertly designed to allow our users to be successful with C-V testing applications. One accessory is our exclusive Micromanipulator’s H1000 Thermal System that offers a single chuck with a temperature range from –65 degrees C to 400 degrees C. The H1000 is specifically guarded to protect the prober from radiating heat down into the body of the station, and the cooling fluid hoses feature self-sealing, quick disconnects to prevent any fluid leakage. Additionally the chuck’s plumbing is entirely contained within the footprint of the 8060.

Visit our website or reach out to one of our engineers to learn more the state-of-the-art products we offer to help you get the most accurate C-V measurement testing results. Our team is ready to help.

In today’s marketplace, it is tough to make a go of it, and as such, there are not all that many companies that have been in business for as long as Micromanipulator. In 2016, the Micromanipulator Company not only proudly celebrated 60 years in business but has continued our tradition of setting industry standards.

If you are wondering what lies behind our success; the answer is leading-edge technology, precision-engineered products and a laser-sharp focus on customer service and support. In fact, part of our philosophy has always included the belief that our success is based on the success of our customers.

Micromanipulator’s extraordinarily talented team has continued to deliver products that allow our customers to produce the innovations of the future. Starting in 1956 with the invention of analytical probing, we have proudly produced many industry firsts including pioneering the integration of thermal chucks with probe stations. Then we introduced the broadest temperature range and the most advanced, non-operator dependent performance available on the market.

We have also been proud to deliver to our customers a system approach that removes the “burden of performance” on users and lets them focus on their data, not the prober. Moreover customers can outfit their prober to meet the demands of their application with vibration isolation, thermal management, and materials selections as well as flexible, open architectures. Our exclusive H1000 series thermal wafer chucks not only provides the best planarity and lowest noise but also offers the lowest cost of ownership. Micromanipulator’s accessories include high-quality microscopes, light and noise shields, vibration isolation, DC and RF measurement hardware and a line of manipulators.

Finally we provide our customers with a broad range of tools we proudly stand by and back up with warranties and professional full system level support. So if reliability and high performance from an industry leader sounds like a good investment, please visit our website or contact us for assistance.

Micromanipulator not only invented analytical probing in 1956 but we remain the leading name in the field. As such we reliably deliver the tools and life cycle support the semiconductor industry depends on. As part of our company’s philosophy and what drives our success is an unfaltering commitment to customers’ satisfaction. We invite you to contact us to find out more about our wide range of probe stations, accessories and consumables.

Micromanipulator’s Chucks Offer the Broadest Temperature Range

The Micromanipulator Company prides itself on manufacturing a wide range of high quality probe stations and smartly-designed accessories to meet the semiconductor industry’s every need. As the first company to integrate thermal chucks with probe stations, our wafer chucks are just one example of how we design premium products for comprehensive system integration as well as to address a variety of applications.

Micromanipulator’s thermal chucks offer the broadest temperature ranges and most advanced non-operator dependent performance in the industry. In addition to their rapid heat up and cool down feature, our innovative chucks also minimize expansion into the probes and heat radiation into the stage, which helps to prolong the prober’s life.

Our hot chuck systems are designed for wafer testing from -65 to 400 degrees and support 150 to 300 mm wafers in coaxial or triaxial configurations. Micromanipulator’s Frictionless Kinematic Mount allows our thermal chucks to maintain a high degree of planarity over temperature changes. Furthermore we have several heating options. Our AC heating supply is recommended for applications that require fast heating without the need for chuck noise in the femtoamp level. To achieve the very lowest level measurements, we suggest you purchase your system with a DC heating supply.

We also offer a choice of three cooling options depending on your application needs and budget. The most economical choice for high (above ambient) testing is the C1000 simple heat exchanger (HE), which provides rapid cool down of the chuck after a heat cycle is finished. The C1000 Zero Degree option is designed to test to zero degrees C. Micromanipulator’s third choice, the HC1000 high performance cooling system has the ability to test at temperatures as low as -65 degrees C.

In addition to our thermal chucks, we design, engineer and manufacture a wide assortment of other high-quality accessories and consumables as well as our entire line of probe stations. Please visit our website for more information regarding our innovative products.

Probe Stations Recommended for Hot/Cold Applications

When Micromanipulator says we have the best selection of tools for virtually any application, we are not kidding. For example we offer eight, high-quality probe stations ideal for hot/cold applications. Starting with the premium 2210-LS Application Board Probe Station, which is capable of probing wafers up to 300mm, it offers independent platens and scope travel across the entire station. The 2210-LS also comes with a large vibration isolated open stage as well as a patent pending thermal chamber system.

Another excellent probe station for hot/cold probing is the 450PM General Purpose Manual. Built with your budget and application in mind, the station is a great value as it is designed to grow with your application. The 450PM offers a stable, reliable probing performance, and while equipped with a coaxial chuck, it is thermal and triaxial chuck upgradable. The design of the 450PM is based on the popular 4060.

The balanced, manual Model 4060 probe station is yet another option for hot/cold probing and offers system users high magnification and stability and a quick platen lift. While a coaxial chuck is standard, it too is thermal and triaxial chuck upgradable and has lots of compatible accessories available.

Micromanipulator’s best values in our semi-automatic stations are our P200L Semi-Automatic Probe Station and P300L Semi-Automatic Probe Station. Both offer automation that can be incrementally upgraded. Low current ready, the probers are built with your application and budget in mind.

Does your hot/cold application require high performance? We recommend taking a look at the Model 8060, our highest performance manual that features sub-micron positioning and fA resolution. Along with a quick lift platen, it is designed for demanding applications such as high and low temperature probing, very low current and voltage probing, and sub-micron target probing to the limits of visible optics. The 8060 is thermal and triaxial chuck upgradeable.
